#TCMxTTH - From Pause to Purpose – My Journey from Motherhood to Parenting Coach

Life has a way of unfolding in chapters we never quite plan—but when we look back, every pause, every uncertainty, and every decision begins to make sense.
I started my professional journey as an Electronics Engineer. After completing my BE in Electronics, I worked with organisations in Pune where I not only gained technical knowledge but also truly enjoyed my work. It was a phase of learning, independence, and growth—one that gave me confidence in my abilities.
Then came marriage, and with it, a new phase of life. Like many women, I made a conscious choice not to continue working immediately. It wasn’t a forced decision—it was a thoughtful pause. I wanted to settle into my new environment, understand my new role, and give myself the space to adjust.
Soon after, my son , Yash was born—and in that moment, everything changed.
I still remember the overwhelming joy I felt. It’s difficult to describe in words, but it was as if I had discovered a new version of myself—one that was deeply connected, nurturing, and completely present. I made a decision then, one that came straight from my heart—I wanted to be a hands-on mother.
And I embraced it fully.
Those years were some of the most fulfilling years of my life. I was there for everything—every milestone of my growing child, every small achievement, every question, every curiosity. We read books together, watched movies, discussed his studies, and simply spent time being present with each other.
He wasn’t just my child—he was, and still is, my heart walking outside my body.
I never felt like I had “given up” something. Instead, I felt like I had chosen something deeply meaningful.
Motherhood, for me, was not a break—it was a phase of growth, just in a different direction.
But as life moves forward, so do our children.
When Yash left home for his higher education, it was a moment filled with pride… and an unexpected emptiness. I was happy for him, of course, but somewhere within me, there was a quiet question—What now?
For years, my identity had been beautifully intertwined with being a mother. I had poured my time, energy, and love into raising him. And now, suddenly, the house felt quieter, the days felt longer, and I felt a sense of uncertainty I hadn’t experienced before.
I remember feeling scared—truly scared—about how I would navigate this new phase of life.
It was a pause I hadn’t prepared for.
And then, something shifted.
In March 2025, I came across a women’s growth workshop conducted by Mr. Shobhit Singhal. I joined it without any specific expectations—just a hope that maybe it would give me some direction.
What I didn’t realise then was that it would become a turning point in my life.
During the workshop, as I listened, reflected, and engaged in conversations, I began to reconnect with parts of myself I had not explored before. Shobhit helped me look at my journey—not as something that had paused, but as something that had prepared me.
He asked me simple yet powerful questions. He listened to my experiences as a mother, my natural inclination to support and guide other parents, and my deep passion for helping them navigate their parenting challenges.
And slowly, it became clear.
What I had been doing informally for years—listening to mothers, supporting them, helping them see their children with more understanding—was not just a habit.
It was a skill.
It was a strength.
And perhaps… it was my calling.
That realisation changed everything.
With his guidance and encouragement, I decided to take a step forward—not just emotionally, but professionally. I began investing time in learning. I researched deeply into child psychology, positive parenting, and behaviour patterns. I enrolled in certification courses and started building a structured understanding of something I had always felt intuitively.
It wasn’t always easy. There were moments of doubt, moments where I questioned myself—but there was also a growing sense of clarity.
I was no longer searching aimlessly.
I was moving with purpose.
Along the way, I also became a part of a wonderful community—Avengers—where I met like-minded individuals who were on their own journeys of growth. The support, encouragement, and guidance I received from Shobhit and fellow members played a significant role in shaping my confidence.
Slowly but surely, I began stepping into my new role—as a parenting coach.
What started as conversations with a few parents gradually turned into structured sessions. I created my own parenting community—a space where parents could come together, share, learn, and feel supported without judgment.
I conducted webinars on topics like “The Power of Small Habits in Children,” and initiated meaningful discussions around everyday parenting challenges.
And with every session, every interaction, I felt something I hadn’t felt in a long time—a deep sense of fulfilment.
I realised that I wasn’t just “doing something” with my time.
I was doing something that mattered—to me and to others.
Today, when I look back at my journey, I see it differently.
What once felt like a pause was actually preparation.
What felt like uncertainty was actually transition.
And what felt like loss of identity was actually the beginning of rediscovering it.
Motherhood didn’t take anything away from me—it shaped me into who I am today.
It gave me patience, empathy, understanding, and the ability to truly listen. And now, I use those very qualities to support other parents in their journeys.
I don’t see myself as someone who has “figured it all out.” I see myself as someone who has walked the path, learned along the way, and now walks alongside other parents as they navigate theirs.
From being an engineer to a mother, and now a parenting coach—my journey has not been linear.
But it has been meaningful.
And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it is this:
Sometimes, the most powerful purpose is born from the roles we once thought were pauses.
Today, I am grateful—for my journey, my Family, for the people who guided me, and for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of parents and children.
Because this is not just my profession anymore.
It is my purpose. 💖
Curator’s Note
This narrative beautifully reframes life’s pauses as preparation for purpose. It highlights a powerful transformation—from identity rooted in roles to identity rooted in contribution—showing how lived experiences can evolve into meaningful consulting pathways.
